1. Jardin des Plantes

Jardin des Plantes

Location: 5th Arrondissement

Jardin des Plantes attracts large numbers of Parisians, particularly on weekends, to see the magnificent cherry tree flowers.  Here you’ll find some of the city’s oldest cherry trees, particularly one planted in the early years of the 1960s.

The beautiful but spreading tree near the greenhouse in the photographs above, a white Prunus serrulata, stands only about 3 meters tall but extends to around 14 meters.

2. Parc Monceau

Parc Monceau paris

Location: 8th Arrondissement

One of my favorite things to do is visit the exquisite park designed by Baron Haussmann as part of Paris’ 19th-century renovation. This is an ideal spot to see the magnificent cherry tree.

It enhances its attractiveness as I wander through the tranquil surroundings of the curving road, which is dotted with sculptures.

Parc Monceau, with its characteristic Parisian architecture, is one of my favorite spots to observe these lovely blossoms.

3. Parc Floral de Paris

Location: 12th Arrondissement

The Parc Floral is Paris’ biggest park, located in the Bois de Vincennes near the Château. In addition to its magnificent foliage, it is a massive park with outdoor sports for children, mini-golf, performances, and a variety of other attractions.

The park is free of admission during the off-season, but charges from April to the end of September. Entrance is 2.57 USD for adults and it’s free for children under 7.

4. Tuileries Garden

Location: 1st Arrondissement

The Tuileries gardens across the Louvre have lots of spring blooms to uncover, but none are more beautiful than the rich pink tones of the garden’s blossoms.

The Tuileries are best visited on weekdays in the early morning, as they are overcrowded on weekends and grow considerably more popular in the afternoon.

The Tuileries Garden’s operating hours change depending on the season. Remember to check them before arriving. Entry is free all year.

5. Jardins des Serres d’Auteuil

Location: 16th Arrondissement

The Serres Gardens are located on the outskirts of Paris, near the Bois de Boulogne. The Jardins, one of Paris’ four botanical gardens, are located in the 16th arrondissement and are consistently worth a visit.

Not only are they brimming with spring blooms in the early months of the year, but they also support a diverse range of plants year-round.

6. Champ de Mars

Champs de Mars

Location: 7th Arrondissement

The Champ de Mars is one of the capital’s greatest green parks. This enormous public garden is surely a popular destination throughout the year.

Champ de Mars is one of the greatest places to shoot the Eiffel Tower in March, as it is surrounded by lovely blooms.

Magnolia trees may also be found on Champ de Mars, which served as an excellent backdrop for the Eiffel Tower earlier in March. If you’re visiting Paris in March, you can’t miss this site!

7. Parc Montsouris

Location: 14th Arrondissement

The Parc Montsouris is one of Paris’ major green parks. It is situated in the fourteenth arrondissement. Entrance is free.

There are a few modest cherry trees along the park’s gate, but Montsouris’ most stunning cherry tree is on one of the main alleyways, with white and pink blooms.

8. Jardins du Trocadéro

Jardins du Trocadéro

Location: 16th Arrondissement

The Trocadéro Gardens are a must-see for everyone visiting the Eiffel Tower. This natural park, created for the 1937 Universal Exposition, provides a breathtaking perspective of the Eiffel Tower, which dominates the city.

The gardens’ major attraction is the famed Warsaw fountains, which provide a beautiful water display, especially on warm summer evenings when they are lighted.

9. Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

Location: 19th Arrondissement

Wandering through the twenty-five lush hectares of Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, you may be surprised to hear that you are crossing over one of the most infamous spots in medieval Paris.

The lonely cherry tree, nestled by the pond of Parc Buttes-Chaumont is one of the most exquisite cherry blossoms Paris can offer, ideal for a hanami moment or a picnic in the park.

Parc des Buttes Chaumont is a great place to go if you want to let your kids play on the grass. There are a dozen water fountains, three or four eateries, and snack shops.

10. Square René-Viviani

Location: 5th Arrondissement

Square Rene Viviani can be found on Quai de Montebello, on the left side of the Seine River. The Square provides one of the best views of the cathedral Notre Dame

The length and size of the cathedral may be viewed from this square. Along with the magnificent cherry blossom trees, you may locate Paris’ oldest tree.

11. Bois de Vincennes

Location: 12th Arrondissement

The Bois de Vincennes is home to several types of natural vegetation, attracts hundreds of birds, and is teeming with animals and reptiles. Parc Floral de Paris was founded in 1969, inspired by the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

If you visit in April, the beautiful flowers will be easy to identify as you approach the park. Veer to the lake’s left to observe the pink flowering trees, and right to see the white blossoming trees.

There are hundreds of iris varieties in the garden, as well as a huge fountain. There is a greenhouse dedicated to bonsai. It is also a popular site for a number of free special events throughout the year.

12. Jardin Anne Frank

Location: 3rd Arrondissement

The Jardin Anne Frank, located in a rear corner of the lower Marais near the Centre Pompidou, is home to a lovely collection of trees that enclose a grassy space and playground. It’s a peaceful little refuge where you may relax and read or simply enjoy the flowers on a lovely day.

Square Gabriel Pierné is also located off the usual route, just a few feet from the lively Pont des Arts. Not only is it peaceful, but you can also include the gorgeous dome of the Institut de France in your bloom photos!

13. Petit Palais

Location: 8th Arrondissement

The Petit Palais, situated between the Seine and the Champs-Élysées, is part of an amazing monumental setting. Several cherry trees with delicate pink petals contribute to the ambiance.

Depending on the year, they bloom from early to mid-April.  Unfortunately, like most cherry blossoms, the lovely flowers only endure about a week.

14. Square Gabriel Pierné

Location: 16h Arrondissement

The Square Gabriel Pierne is located behind the Institute of France. Unfortunately, this entailed the demolition of a 16th-century structure situated at the intersection of Rue Mazarine and Rue de Seine.

Two seats and a carved fountain are tucked among attractive shrubs and magnolias. If you visit in the spring, you’ll be captivated by the Institute’s pink cherry blossoms, which stand out against the limestone back facade.

15. Shakespeare and Company

Location: 5th Arrondissement

While Shakespeare and Company is definitely a heaven on earth for book lovers, you don’t have to be a voracious reader to enjoy a visit to the legendary bookstore.

My advice is to wake up early to escape the crowds and watch Paris relax in the beautiful spring breeze, surrounded by pink cherry blossom petals flowing in the wind.

The English-language bookstore has grown into a cultural hotspot in the French capital. It is a cosmopolitan and energetic meeting place popular with Parisians and travelers from all over the world.

16. Luxembourg Gardens

Location: 6th Arrondissement

Luxembourg Gardens contains everything a beautiful garden should have, including tree-lined promenades, ponds, sculptures, fountains, and an abundance of flowers throughout the year.

It also has that “something extra.” It might be either the artificial grotto or the 17th-century mansion.

You’ll muster up the patience until May for the lovely Rous or Rose blooms that provide color to some of Luxembourg’s most beautiful gardens, but now is the time to see blossoming magnolias and cherry tree petals.
