1. Chanel Diamond Forever – $261,000

At $261,000, Chanel’s Diamond Forever is the most expensive bag the company has ever created and sold.

As the name suggests, the Diamond Forever is studded with diamonds – 334 pieces that weigh a total of 3.56 carats, encrusted over fine alligator skin. This extremely limited bag’s detachable strap is made of 18-karat white gold chain. Its clasp, made of the Chanel CC logo, is also in white gold.

In 2008, an ultra-luxurious version of the Chanel Diamond Forever was sold for charity for €300,000. The bag was designed by Karl Lagerfeld in collaboration with Madonna and was sold during the famous amfAR dinner auction in France.

Madonna added her own lipstick and a handkerchief with a carmine red kiss. The bag was auctioned and sold to help fund the fight against AIDS.

2. Black Croc-embossed Lambskin Tote – $107,000

German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld took the reins of the House of Chanel in 1983. Lagerfeld himself did not wear Chanel, saying when in one he looked like his “villainous” mother. However, he had a Croc-embossed Lambskin Tote bag, which became the very bag that made the record as the most expensive Chanel bag ever sold at auction.

Lagerfeld’s own Black Croc-embossed Lambskin Tote Bag was sold for $107,000 during a Sotheby’s auction in Paris in 2024, breaking the record set in 2018 when a Chanel bag was sold for $32,500.

3. Chanel Small Chevron Classic Double Flap in Ecru Calfskin Leather with Silver Hardware – $10,750

For $10,750, you can have the Small Chevron Classic Double Flap bag in ecru calfskin leather with silver tone hardware. It features a front flap with the signature Chanel CC turnlock closure, a half-moon back pocket, and an adjustable interlaced silver tone chain link and ecru leather shoulder strap.

The bag also has ecru leather lining in the interior, with a “love letter” zipper compartment beneath the first flap, a slit pocket under the second flap, and an interior compartment with two open pockets which are divided by a small compartment you can use to store your lipstick.
