Located on the right bank of the Seine, the 9th arrondissement is also called Opéra. This area stretches from the Opera Garnier in the south to Montmartre in the north.
The entire arrondissement is a Belle Epoque masterpiece from the early 1900s. It’s a beautiful area with a hippie vibe. It’s a must-see when you’re in Paris.
The Left Bank of Paris is a popular destination for tourists looking to get a taste of Paris’ “je ne sais quoi.” Quaint and bohemian, the left bank is a haven for philosophers, dreamers, and rebels with its cobblestone pathways and storied past.

In comparison to the Left Bank, the Right Bank always appears more polished and well-groomed.
However, little museums, odd galleries, a hip neighbourhood, and some intensive shopping can be found in the 9th arrondissement. It has a lot of creative vibes and a lot of glitz, making it an interesting place to explore.
There are also numerous cultural, historical, and architecturally significant sites in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Examples are the Palais Garnier, which houses the Paris Opera, and the Boulevard Haussmann, which houses the enormous department stores Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.
The Folies Bergères, Théatre Mogador, and Théatre de Paris are just a few of the many theatres to be found in the area.
There is a slew of small stores and boutiques in the 9th arrondissement, including a maze of 19th century covered corridors, one of Paris’ most popular market districts, and a world-famous auction house.
While the 9th district may not be as well known, it is home to a great number of multinational firms and banks, making it the city’s largest business area other than La Défence. That implies that there will be a wide variety of lodging options and places to eat and drink.
Visiting Paris’ 9th arrondissement may take you longer than you expect. Here’s a list of the best sights and attractions in Paris’ 9th arrondissement, as well as hotel and restaurant recommendations.

Things To Do In 9th Arrondissement
The 9th arrondissement has some of the most beautiful buildings you’ll ever see in Paris, as well as attractions that you must not miss. Here are some of them:
Opera Garnier
The main draw of the Opera district is undoubtedly the Opéra Garnier. When you visit this great opera house, you get both an educational and entertaining experience.
Take in Charles Garnier’s extravagant palace, or revisit the gothic thriller, “Phantom of the Opera” which was said to be inspired by the Palais Garnier.
Architect Garnier used the “Napoleon Style” for this opera house, which features a mix of Neo-Baroque and classical elements.
The splendour of each space outstrips that of the last. The Grand Staircase, the Grand Foyer, and the dazzling 1964 Chagall ceiling mural are some of the most impressive aspects of the building.

The 9th arrondissement should also be called a haven for shoppers since it’s home to two enormous and grandiose department stores.
The Galerie Lafayette is located on Boulevard Haussmann, near the Paris Opera. Founded in 1893, this is a luxury market selling high-end goods.
It is presented in a superb Art Nouveau setting with a spectacular dome. The Galeries Lafayette also has a lovely rooftop patio on the 7th floor. It provides one of the greatest views of Paris at night.
Across the street is Printemps, which means “spring” in French. Printemps, like Galeries Lafayette, has a magnificent stained-glass dome. If you’re hungry, eat at Brasserie Printemps and admire the dome.
Passage des Panoramas
The Passage des Panoramas, located in the 9th arrondissement, is a haven for those who love strolling.
On a rainy day in Paris, this shopping district is the ideal location to kill time. And it dates back to 1799, making it Paris’ oldest covered tunnel.
When gas lighting was installed in the Lane in 1861, the passage became the first lit passage in Paris.
Fortunately, the corridor was not destroyed during the Haussmann restoration process. Since 1974, it has been designated as a historic building.

The Fragonard Perfume Museum is located just a few blocks from the Opéra Garnier in the heart of Paris 9th. The museum, which opened in 1983, is supposed to take visitors on a journey back in time.
You won’t find anything modern about this space, which is located in an opulent mansion built by Napoleon III in the late 1800s. Joseph Lesoufaché, a Garnier student, erected the townhouse in 1860.
Everything you’d expect from an upscale brand in a high-end environment is present, including painted ceilings, stucco decorating, antique fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers.
The museum is a one-of-a-kind experience. Ancient and modern artefacts are housed in a museum dedicated to the study of perfume.
