4. Visit Sainte Chapelle, the Conciergerie, and Sacre Coeur

Sainte Chapelle

If you’re taking your teenagers on a trip, consider taking them to a church. Most of the churches in Paris are architecturally magnificent and have fascinating histories.

The Gothic church of Saint Chapelle was constructed in the 13th century. A must-see is the stained glass windows in the top Church which are pretty breathtaking. There’s also the magnificent combination of navy and gold in the lower Chapel.

Close to the Saint Chapelle is the Conciergerie, where several captives were kept during the French Revolution. The prisoners remained at the Conciergerie before being transferred to the nearby Plaza de la Concorde, where executions were held.

Marie Antoinette, the former queen, was the most illustrious inmate. Some of her personal effects and the courtyard where she exercised every day are exhibited in the Conciergerie museum.

Another church to visit is the Sacré-Coeur, arguably the city’s most recognizable landmark. Located 130 meters above ground on the top of the Butte Montmartre, it offers one of the best sweeping views in the city. The Sacré Coeur is a white Roman-Byzantine architectural church.

5. Have a look around Shakespeare & Company

Shakespeare & Company

Shakespeare & Company, an English language book store close to Notre Dame, is a teen bookworm’s paradise.

The original bookstore and lending library were once visited by Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, TS Eliot, James Joyce, and Ezra Pound. It was destroyed during the Nazi occupation and inspired this business. The current shop is a faithful “copy” and an endearing one at that.

Hundreds of new titles in English, ranging from literature for young readers and poetry to science fiction and regional classics, line the shelves from floor to ceiling. Their second-hand book collection, couches, and a piano are on the second floor.

6. Climb the Arc of Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is one of Paris’ most recognizable landmarks. Another of the fun things to do in Paris with teens, they’ll enjoy impressive, panoramic views of Paris’s landmarks from the top of this monument.

We recommend bringing a small, easy-to-open backpack in case your bag needs to be checked before you ascend. Some visitors were taken aback when security personnel rummaged through their luggage. They have the right to do so, and you may be refused access if you ask them to stop.

Manoir de Paris

Do your teens enjoy scary stories with tense situations? If so, they are going to adore this location. There are many spooky and fascinating things to do at the Manoir de Paris, including interactive shows, escape games, and a museum.

The show “Les légendes de Paris (Paris legends)” is fantastic, and we highly suggest it. This performance is like a tour through a two-story haunted mansion. You’ll meet people with ties to the stories and calamities that have shaped Paris’s history.

Please note that this location is not suitable for children under the age of 10, expectant mothers, or anyone with a heart condition.

8. Go Underground in Paris

Catacombs of Paris, France.

Teens who are adventurous and not afraid of the dark should visit the Catacombs of Paris while in the capital.

Once the city’s cemeteries grew unclean in the 18th century, the bones of millions of Parisians were relocated to this municipal ossuary. The catacombs are one of the largest and only underground instances.

This one-of-a-kind location is a maze in and of itself, making it one of the things to do in Paris with teenagers. There are 243 stairs and a total of 1,500 meters to traverse in the Catacombs, which are 20 meters deep (the equivalent of the height of a 5-story structure).

Tweens and their families can learn about literary greats, including Rabelais, Charles Perrault, Danton, and Robespierre. A one-of-a-kind experience that will leave a lasting impression on the whole family!

Street Art at Paris

Yes, the street art in Paris is a must-see and a unique activity for teens when in Paris. This is a creative approach for young people to learn about different areas of Paris. Belleville and Butte-aux-Cailles are the best places to look.

Both locations are somewhat out of the way but are definitely worth exploring if you’re looking for activities for tweens in Paris. They are nevertheless charming and ideal for a stroll in the afternoon because they have retained their village character.

13. Join us for a delicious and entertaining cuisine walking tour

Teens may find regular walking excursions boring, but food-focused ones are an entirely different animal. Everyone always says that tasting the local cuisine is the most excellent way to get to know a city, and we couldn’t agree more.

If you’re visiting Paris and are hungry for food and knowledge, you can choose from a wide variety of gastronomy tours. The gastronomy tour of Paris’s picturesque hilltop, cobblestone village of Montmartre is highly recommended.

The trip stops at towering windmills, a one-of-a-kind vineyard, and ancient buildings, allowing you to see and taste the best of what Montmartre has to offer. Fresh cheeses, charcuterie, wine (for the adults), pastries, and chocolate are just a few artisanal items you’ll try on your walk through Montmartre!

14. Attend a Real French Baking or Cooking Class

Taking a baking or culinary class in Paris is a great idea if you’re visiting the city with teens who prefer to be active rather than passive tourists. You can’t go wrong with the macaron baking class at Galeries Lafayette.

But if you do a little research and plan ahead, you can find other sorts of cooking and baking that teens would enjoy, even if they wouldn’t ordinarily think to attend a cooking class.

La Cuisine Paris, Cook’n With Class, L’Atelier des Sens (formerly ChefSquare), Le Foodist (if you want to learn how to create macarons), and Les Secrets Gourmands de Noemie are all good options.

Make sure to ask if there is a teen rate or if they offer any discounts.

16. Go on a Day Trip

Versailles

There is so much to see and do in this fantastic city of Paris. If you have more than three days in Paris, though, there are excellent day trips you may take to see other parts of France.

  • Versailles

The Palace of Versailles has some of the most magnificent rooms and halls of any palace in the world. Even more impressive than the Palace itself are the Gardens of Versailles. Gorgeous fountains, water features, and groovy designs adorn them.

Shows take place around the Fountains of Versailles from April through October, and on the weekends, fireworks are also displayed. As magnificent as its width of 5.57 kilometers is, the Grand Canal makes for a lovely area to take a stroll or enjoy a picnic.

  • Fontainebleau

Fontainebleau’s Château is just as grand and historically significant as Versailles, although it receives a fraction of the tourist traffic. That’s why it’s a more relaxed day excursion from Paris.

In addition to its beautiful ballroom, throne room, and chambers, the Château de Fontainebleau has an extensive art collection, a Chinese museum, and a chapel. You and your teens should also spend a few hours wandering around the grounds.

The French, Italian, and English styles are all represented in the three formal gardens. Each garden has its unique elements, such as a pond or canal. Instagram-worthy shots of Château de Fontainebleau can be taken in these locations.
